The Sciton 1064 Nd Yag laser is an infrared beam that targets purple and red.

The infrared energy is absorbed by the color of the blood vessels, breaks the vessel wall and causes coagulation of the vessels. Over time the blocked superficial vessels turn white and disappears. The surrounding normal skin does not absorb the energy so nothing happens to the skin.

There is no down-time. You may resume all moderate activity immediately.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
Your skin will have a pink or red color that will resolve over time. You should use a sun block of SPF 15 or greater after each treatment.

WILL IT BE UNCOMFORTABLE?
There is little to no discomfort with each treatment, but this can vary from person to person and may depend on the depth of treatment.

SKIN AFTER LASER
It is important to cleanse your skin gently and use a lubricating cream. Some vessels will disappear immediately, some over weeks. Avoid direct sunlight and use a sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater.
